You’ve all heard of Thomas the Tank Engine… well, Anam Carra has Johnny Da Bus.

 

Johnny Ward was a humble travelling scraper who ferried local tradesmen from Shannabooly to Raheen in his horse and wagon. The only payment he asked was the price of a warm bottle of Guinness and a good story. Johnny would leap out of his sack every morning, excited to hear what tale might be passed on to him by a local.

 

However, progress and technology are the mouth of an inevitable beast, whose only purpose is to demolish and devour all things that remain stagnant. Johnny Ward was no different. The introduction of a bus route meant Johnny’s wagon-ferrying days were over, and the stories began to dry up.

 

Driven to madness, he did what all good travelling men would do: he fought the bus, man-to-(bus). Naturally, the bus ran him over and killed him.

 

Johnny’s body may have been mangled into mush, but his soul—and his yearning for stories, craic, and good times—lives on, trapped within this bus. All weekend, we aim to please Johnny Da Bus by providing him, and you all, with fireside chats, performative pieces, acoustic sets, and enthralling stories.

To get into this area you must be resolved of yours sins but not to worry as we will have a confession booth upon entrance, if you skip this booth youll be found by our specialised force of nuns packing hurleys and rulers so better watch yourself. 

 

In this area we will also have a misfortune teller ………..

 

We will have a tattoo parler in this area………..

 

The anam cara stage will house a wild mix of djs, bands and exciting shows including the mandatory fashion show and ending with the courthouse to seek justice on all our bold boys and girls over the weekend. 

 

And when the clock hits 10 we have a surprise for all the party animals seeking a few more hours of un interrupted dance.
